NYE Looks!

You guys, New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and I haven’t even decided what I am wearing yet! I had a look all set and I ordered it from Nordstrom and AFTER 16 DAYS of it not shipping I finally got the notice that it was cancelled. That was 16 days wasted where I could have been looking for another look! Of course I want to be sparkly, it is NYE duh! I ordered a back up dress like two days before my first option got cancelled just to be safe. I got it last night and finally tried it on… I swear if I lifted a finger my butt cheeks would show, so that is getting returned. I have a third option which may end up being my outfit if I can’t find anything else. I do really like it, I found it on another blogger (@stylethegirl), but I was really wanting to wear my white booties and I can’t with this outfit…. I also ordered ANOTHER dress option BUT it was the last one so I don’t even know if it will ship. Ugh why is this so hard this year?!

Anyway, during mine and Amanda’s Christmas look try on haul (catch up here) we did a couple NYE looks too. Everything is linked below and I have linked some other fun sequin pieces! It’s NYE, sparkles feel like a must!

PSA: Fave Dress On Sale!!

You probably know that my favorite dress is the ruched body-con by Leith from Nordstrom, considering I have five different colors. I’ve said before that I call it the blogger dress because like all of the bloggers have it, and I’m totally okay and open to admitting that I jumped right on that band wagon and I don’t care! It’s such an amazing dress and makes you look so good. I love that you can wear it to work and for going out. It’s so classy yet still sexy with the wrap type bottom.

Well… I now have six of them and most likely will be adding my seventh, but with good reason! There are ten colors on sale right now!! I just added this bright coral, or as it’s called “Pink Teaberry”, and I’m so excited. Pantone’s color of 2019 is “Living Coral” so I am just getting a head start on this soon to be growing trend. Now the “living” part of living coral is unclear to me… as in coral before it dies when it is brought out of the water? Does that mean faded or dull coral should be called dead coral? I will research and report back, but regardless, I’m stoked it is bright coral.

I wore this dress to my sister-in-law’s bridal shower this past Sunday. We were on balloon duty so naturally I took advantage and snapped a photo with all 30 balloons because 1- they were pretty colors, and 2- I had 30 balloons sooo why not.

Go check out the colors on sale, I promise you won’t regret it! The long sleeve version is on sale too in some colors I’ve linked those too!

Speechless Photoshoot!

This past Saturday I got the opportunity to be a part of a photoshoot for Speechless dresses thanks to the SoCal Blogger Babes (SCBB – I just recently joined their amazing blogger community and I am so thankful to be able to do fun things like this all the while building relationships with inspiring like-minded women). The shoot was in DTLA and was Sex and the City themed so you can bet I wanted to be part of it as soon as I read that. Only 8 girls got to go and we had to stay in a hotel courtesy of Speechless on Friday night because they wanted to start the shoot at 7am. I looked up the hotel and got super excited, it was the Freehand in LA, the hotel with the Broken Shaker rooftop bar on top. The photos looked so cool! I was curious when the email said there were four girls to a room and that each of us would have our own beds… what kind of rooms were these? On the photos I looked up I saw they have shared rooms with bunk beds, it felt like we were going to camp!

I was pretty proud of myself for even going to the shoot. I have said in one of my previous posts that I do not like doing things alone. I wasn’t technically alone in this adventure but I had never previously met the girls I would be stating with. I also hate driving to LA let alone driving down there alone, but I successfully made it down there without getting lost or making any wrong turns. The only thing I did was pass the hotel and had to circle all the way back around because it was a one way street. Go me!

img_9050

We all got up at 5am to get ready for the photoshoot which wasn’t all that easy with 8 girls in one room, but somehow we were successful. I was getting nervous for the shoot. Sure I take blog photos a lot but they are super quick and I never know how to pose and I had NO IDEA what to do! I didn’t want to look lame in front of the other girls who clearly seemed to know what they were doing. It helped that the photographer was super nice and instead of having an order or who would go, she kind of just pulled people who’s dresses looked good in the area we were at. This helped me because I wasn’t freaking out counting down the girls until I was up. Instead she shot one girl and then looked at me and said what I was standing next to was good and that I was next. I actually think I semi pulled off like I knew what I was doing and it was a lot of fun. We were all walking the streets of DTLA in fancy dresses, a herd of formal wear.

img_9043

We walked pretty far and then headed back to the hotel to change into our second dresses. The second half of the shoot was going to be on the rooftop. This one was a little harder for me because I didn’t know what to do with my hands (per usual). My first dress was long in the back so I got to have fun with it and wave it around and hold it. My second dress was really short so that was not an option. I hope they came out okay!

img_9040

Actually I’m really nervous to see if all of my photos came out okay. I guess we will see when we get them. Until then I have the one below we took on my phone. I am super excited to show you the green dress though, stay tuned! I am wondering if I can wear it to my work party.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend! Dress is linked here!

Old Navy Dress Roundup

I have been obsessed with Old Navy’s summer dresses this year. They have been so perfect and their prints have been on point. You probably know how much I like the resort wear look so all of these palm and tropical flower prints have been my jam. I ended up with three this summer (yes I know not that many but I had to limit myself!) and I want to wear them all the time. Luckily I got them all on sale too!

First one I got was this black floral print dress with a tie neck. It’s perfect with either sandals or wedges and is nice and cool for when it’s hot. It comes in a couple other colors as well but a lot of sizes are almost sold out! Linked here!

Second was this basic swing dress that is SO comfortable! There aren’t too many colors left but I want to buy another. It is so cute with some fun earrings and wedges, or even sandals or tennies! Linked here!

Lastly is this fun little salsa dress. The off the shoulder detail and the bottom ruffle are just SO FUN! I need an actual event to wear this too, I just love it so much. I feel like I’m instantly on vacation when I put it on! A couple sizes are gone in this color, but black is fully stocked. Linked here!

I can’t believe it’s August! Let’s enjoy the end of summer and welcome FALL SOON!

Blogger on Vacation

It has been forever and a half since I have posted a blog and I apologize. I do not really know why. You know when you have been good about going to the gym, and you take a day off and it is okay, but when you take a few or more days off you just fall out of your groove and don’t want to go anymore? That is kind of what happened. Anyways, last week I glanced at Old Navy online and they have so many cute things (and sales)! They have a collection called Bold Botanicals and it has the cutest summer prints. I love all of the resort wear styles, it makes me want to be on vacation all the time, but instead I just wear them and pretend. I always say “I want to dress like a blogger on vacation,” when I go somewhere for a little weekend vacation. I even said that was my goal style when we went to Mexico last summer. It is funny though because I am a blogger, and I was on vacation, so why do I say I want to dress like a blogger on vacation when I AM a blogger on vacation? I need to be better about not discounting what I am just because I am not that big. I am working on growing my following but just because it is not huge yet does not make me any less of a blogger! So something for me to work on and believe in myself.

This last weekend my sisters, bfff, and I went on our Palm Springs trip and I WAS A BLOGGER ON VACATION. On Sunday for the morning and Father’s Day I wore one of the dresses from Old Navy (on sale for $15 right now!) and it was so cute! I am linking it below along with a few of my other faves.

Enjoy and happy Tuesday!

PS – If you didn’t see on my Insta story, I got braces yesterday! Currently on a liquid diet and not enjoying it but I keep being told it will get better. It better or the next 18 months will suck. More on that later!

The Blogger Dress

My sister Tabitha and I have come to call this dress “the blogger dress”. It earned its name when the last Nordstrom anniversary sale happened. The dress wasn’t on sale but almost ALL of the bloggers we follow were wearing and talking about this dress by Leith. When I finally went to Nordstrom to try it on I understood why. This is probably the best dress I have ever owned. All the other bloggers kept talking about how great the fit was and how the ruching in the front covers any bloating or lack of abs. They were absolutely right. I feel so comfortable and good in this dress. It is long enough for work but still short enough to dress it up to go out. The crossed V front makes it a little sexy without being inappropriate. The best part is I feel like I can be relaxed in it and not worry about sucking it in all night or pulling it down so my butt doesn’t show like in a typical body-con. I am tall, like around 5’8″, and I can still wear a small in this dress and not worry about it being short. I already have it in black and this peach color, but I still want to get it in the navy… and possibly the green. It is just so versatile! It can seriously be worn for any occasion. Like below I just wore it with cheetah espadrille mules from Target to keep it casual to walk around Fremont Street. If you are looking for a good fitted dress I promise you, go try this on and you’ll probably want to buy it.

Just Peachy

This is the second dress I got from Tosave, and guess what? This one was only $12.07! It is a long sleeve, loose, mini crew neck dress and it is just so cute. The fact that it is so simple means you can dress it up or down. I dressed it up with over the knee boots and a statement necklace, but it can also be worn with sandals, casual boots, booties, flats, or even extra casual with Converse and a denim jacket. The material is lightly textured which gives it a little something extra, and the layers I guess you would call them, or the block stitching, gives it a more unique look, like it has more details yet is still super simple. As you can guess from the style, it is super comfy. I love being able to dress up a comfy dress, it just feels so much easier.

Just like the last one (post linked here), I got this dress in a medium again because I am tall. The length of this one is perfect. It also comes in navy and olive, but I “pink” (this one is called pink but it is definitely more peach) because this will work great when the seasons start to change back to spring. I am usually drawn to the brighter colors but the other two are super cute too. Find the dress linked here!

Little Striped Mini Dress

How cute is this little red and white striped mini dress?! I got it from Tosave and guess what, IT IS ONLY $6.75 and comes in six different colors. I wore mine to a breakfast gift exchange because the red and white are perfect for the holidays. I paired it with my over the knee tan boots and a simple pendant necklace to casually dress it up.

What is perfect about this dress is the fit. It kind of looks fitted, but is a little loose around your waist which makes it comfy yet still flattering. I felt so girly in it! I also love the sleeves. You know me and my sleeves right now (and about every other girl), got to have those details. I just love how they are ruffled and three quarter-length. I have learned that even though the long sleeves with ruffles or bell sleeves are so cute, they can be a pain when washing your hands or trying to not get them in your food. The sleeves on this dress are perfect. As soon as I walked into the restaurant I got a compliment on it.

My dress is linked here from Tosave. I got mine in a medium because I am tall, and it is just long enough on me. Check out the other colors and some of their other dresses, they are all such great prices! I will be reviewing two more this week so stay tuned!

Year End Party

Sorry it has taken me so long to write this post, everything has been so busy with the upcoming holidays! I am sure you can all agree. I cannot believe Christmas is in a week from today! Are you ready? I almost am… I think. I wrapped three gifts last night and felt very accomplished. I still have a few things I need to get though.

Anyways, last Friday the 8th was my work year end party. My boyfriend was away at training so I brought my best friend and we had a blast. The “dress” I wore I had had my eye on for like ever. It was on my wishlist at Nordstrom and I kept stalking it. Finally it went on sale for 40% off so I HAD to buy it. My reasoning for buying it was for my work year end party, yeah I think I bought this in like September, only four months early LOL! I put dress in quotes because it is actually a romper. I kept calling it a “romper dress” not knowing the correct term until my bffff and I settled on “dromper”. Come to find out thanks to Socialite via Instagram, it is called a “walk through romper”. If you are lost, basically it is a romper with a long back almost like a train. I guess technically it is like a mullet! I know that all sounds so silly but wait until you see it!…

See! I felt so beautiful and sexy in it! I don’t want to sound conceited but you know those outfits that just give you all sorts of confidence? Well this was one of those. There was one flaw though… it is very low cut which again yes is sexy however, in order for it to not fly open and show off your girls you have to tape it to your chest with dress tape. That’s fine, I put it on and got all taped up. I also brought the tape with me in my purse because after my first experience with dress tape it starts to come off when you get sweaty and I knew we would be dancing. Before the party my bfff an I met up with my manger and his wife for dinner and right before we left dinner I went to the ladies room to re-tape a little before heading to the party. Once in a stall I realized I was completely taped to my chest, and wearing a romper. THERE WAS NO GETTING OUT OF IT, which meant no bathroom for me! Um I was slightly panicked as I feel I may have the smallest bladder in the world. I felt slightly dumb for not thinking of that before making this wardrobe choice.

I ended up getting through it though and we had a lot of fun. We rolled in at about 9:45pm, got some drinks, took photos in the photo booth, danced. THEN at 11pm a surprise guest appeared… SNOOP DOGG! Last year Nelly performed but we were thinking no one would be there this year since we were having “celebrity DJs” which I had no idea who they were. Snoop was fun and we danced to his show for an hour. Once he finished we decided to leave but not before we got a picture with the former Angel player Hank Conger! All in all, a great and eventful night, I just love being able to dress up.

Outfit details!

My “dress”/”dromper”/”walk through romper” was from Socialite at Nordstrom (unfortunately it is sold out since I bought it a while ago but they do have this new one I am obsessed with: linked here!)

Little Black Dress

I love dresses but I don’t wear them all that often, especially not to work. I have long legs so it can be hard to find one that is an appropriate length for the office. I think it was back around the time of the Nordstrom sale that I saw a TON of bloggers all wearing the same dress. I checked it out and found it was by Leith, a ruched body-con. I looked at it A LOT before I finally bought it. It comes in a handful of colors but all of the ones I wanted were sold out in my size, so I settled with black (if you know me you know I don’t usually go for black). In this case though I am so happy I did! I can totally see why all of those bloggers I saw were obsessed with this dress because now I am. It is just perfect, there is no better description. The length is perfect for work, despite that fact that it is a body-con it isn’t your usual super tight dress so check the box again for work appropriate. The ruching in the front lets you not worry about any body issues like sucking it in all day or muffin tops, and the little V in the front adds just a little bit of sexy to it. I have paired it with flats/mules, heels, and over the knee boots like I did below. I have also topped it off with a blazer, and I have tried a knit sweater, again below. It is just perfect like I said and I cant wait to get it in another color. I also saw they have the same dress but with long sleeves, that is obviously on my wish list now.

Check it out below! (PS- I haven’t worn this necklace since my sister’s wedding in June and I do not know why because it is AMAZING! She got it for me from Baublebar for my Maid of Honor gift. Be prepared to see it more often!)
