On Saturday two of my best friends and I met up in Palm Springs to have a little girls’ weekend! Heather, my old roomie, lives in Palm Desert so we stayed at her place, but we met in downtown Palm Springs first for lunch. We didn’t know where to go so Amanda suggested Farm. She said she has tried to go but it was always too busy. We got in and oh my goodness I couldn’t get over how cute it was! It’s a french restaurant and their patio and decor is amazing. I am not sure what the patio style is called but let’s say its a gazebo top (so the sun shines through the wood slats) there was a ton of bougainvillea vines giving us shade, the tables didn’t match, all three of us had a different color, size, and style glass, the cloth napkins were all different patterned cloths, it was just perfect and peaceful. I wanted to take pictures of everything but I also didn’t want to be a werido. The bathroom was even cute so I took my first bathroom selfie that no I will not post on Insta because I think that is weird, no offense.
We sat and ate and it was amazing. Our appetizer was the best thing of my entire life… BAKED BRIE. It came with brie cheese with brown sugar and hazel nuts, baked to a gooey perfect, toast points, thin apple slices (so perfect they looked fake), and a fig spread. It was so delicious. For food Heather and I both got a crepe that came with apples baked in butter and cinnamon. Of course we also got cocktails, mine as called “Mama Needs a Drink” and was a different take on a mojito. All in all, this restaurant gets an A in my book for both food and cuteness!
After lunch we walked up the main street in downtown and went in the few clothing stores we like where everything is like $17.99. Well Heavenly Couture raised the prices, now it is $19.99, but still cute! Then we checked out all of the new shops. They are really working on upping Palm Springs’ game. This new section of shopping is so nice! I was surprised they did the buildings and store fronts so modern though, I thought they would design them more “Palm Springs Vintage”. We went into Kiehl’s that had just opened and bought a couple things and got face mask samples! We were excited because we were going to use them that night. Fast forward a bit, the mask was freaking amazing and is linked here: Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Mask, it is made with Amazonian white clay, TRY IT.
After Kiehl’s we checked out Mac because the cashier said it was their opening day. I bought a lipglass, called Explicit, because I have been wanting to get back into shiny gloss and I got a free lip stick for buying something on their first day! Funny that the lipstick they were giving away matched my lipglass perfectly.
Finally we went back to Heather’s, settled in, and made reservations for sushi. When we got to dinner we made it just in time for happy hour. It was good, I got my usual “sushi” as in everything was cooked. THEN Heather surprised me because she told the waiter when she went to the restroom that it was my birthday :), well it is on this coming Wednesday but still. I got green tea ice cream and it was amazing. You girls are the best.
After dinner, we went home, immediately got into pjs, and put the face masks on. It felt so good but got so dry! It was so funny to wrinkle our faces before we washed it off, we looked quite attractive. Our skin felt so good after though. I want to actually buy the bottle of this stuff.
PJs, check. Masks, check. It was movie time. We watched Dirty Dancing because I had never seen it before… I know, I am a terrible person! I am obsessed with it though. It took everything in my to not put it on when I got home last night. I just want to watch it again and again!! Finally after the movie it was bed time. We were exhausted and had plans to get up early to go to the vintage flea market in downtown in the morning.
We got up on time but moved slow. We left an hour later than we wanted but it was okay. Heather made us breakfast, (thanks mom!) and we left at 9:30am. We walked through the whole flea market and saw a lot of cute things. Amanda and I both bought vintage phones for decorations (mine is pink!), Amanda bought a fur jacket, and heather bought a vintage toaster… which she texted me late last night all upset that it doesn’t work! I reminded her that it was still vintage haha. We finally left after we walked through twice because it got so hot. It felt like summer and we all now have tan lines from our tops. I am glad it is only February… Amanda left to go home from there and Heather and her boyfriend’s friends met us there to go back to their house. I just have to side note here because these two girls are the sweetest. I had met one at Heather’s birthday and the other I had just met and I feel like I could hang out all the time with them.
We got back, the boys made snacks, we played corn hole, ate carne asada tacos, watched the Super Bowl, cheered for our favorite team JT (LOL), then I left after half time. I didn’t want to hit all of the traffic and drunks on the drive home, plus I had to stop by my mom’s on the way, she lives in Palm Springs. It was such a great weekend. I really needed it considering everything that is going on right now (you will hear about it eventually). I love girls’ days/nights and I am pretty sure I will be having a lot more, and I am so thankful for my girlfriends. I love you girls! I hope everyone had a great weekend too!
