Pop of Color

How cute is this midi skirt?! I wasn’t sure if it was too circus tent-y, but I couldn’t get it out of my head from the moment I saw it. I decided it was too fun not to buy. I wore it to work but it would also be great for dress up events like brunch, a bridal shower, or a birthday party.

I paired it with my sleeveless chambray top and my rose gold heels, you know for a little pop, because a bright yellow skirt needs more pop…

I got so many compliments on this outfit from the minute I walked in the door at work! I just loved it! Probably one of the best parts about it is how inexpensive the skirt is. I got it half off on BooHoo.com. I’m excited to see what other looks I can make with it. Check it out!

Among the Wildflowers

Sunday morning, my bffff, her other bff Sarah, and I went in search of wildflower fields. I have been trying to take more blog photos and Sarah has been wanting to get back into photography so we had a win-win situation. We left at 7:00am to attempt to  find wildflowers near Lake Elsinore, but no surprise, they were all dead. We were not discouraged though! The scenery was still pretty so we found some good spots with some little wildflowers and took some great pictures.

I was really happy with how this outfit turned out. I found the kimono last weekend at my sister’s bachelorette party in Palm Springs. The store is called Heavenly Couture and EVERYTHING was $16.99! I could have bought way more but I had some self control, but only some. To be honest I wasn’t sure how the kimono would look paired over my collard chambray top but I think tying the bottom of the top really helped. This is the chambray top I got from the Who What Wear line at Target. The shorts are from Topshop at Nordstrom. I am really excited to see how else I can style this kimono, especially for work. I will definitely be trying it this week. At Heavenly Couture, they had it styled over a mauve dress and belted. I want to try something similar because it was super cute! Check it out, and note, I have only gotten a couple pictures back from Sarah so I will be sure to share the rest when I get them! You can totally tell the difference between her photos and mine LOL! She is just such a good photographer!

This one cracked me up so I had to add it, I am so weird

Pink Chambray

Occasionally, as in more than I should, I stroll through the clothes section of Target. The other day I passed through and didn’t really see anything that I liked. It is hard when the seasons are changing and stores are redoing their entire floor set. I decided I was being good not finding anything and started to walk away… until I came across this dress! Pink chambray, how perfect is it? I grabbed one off the rack and didn’t even try it on, just went to the check out.

This dress is the perfect shade of pink and goes perfectly with all tans and browns. This time I paired my chestnut booties from Steve Madden (clearly my new favs since they are in most of my recent posts) but next I can even try my tan heels to make it more business casual for work. You can even add a sweater or a denim jacket to add more. I can’t wait to wear this again! I’m thinking this weekend with the sun coming out! (I am having trouble finding it online to link it but I will try looking again tonight!)

Wear Again Wednesday #2

On Wednesdays we wear an outfit again… (I really hope you understood that reference)

Anyways… It’s Wear Again Wednesday where I take a previously worn outfit and change it up a bit. For those of you who know me I rarely wear the exact same outfit more than once unless it’s one I REALLY love. But I’ve been trying to recycle my outfits instead of shopping and it’s working however, it does take some work. It can be so hard to just stare at your closet and see all the same clothes all the time. Imagination is needed to create new outfits! I saw the sleeve of one of my chambray tops sticking out of my overstuffed closet and saw the bottom of my red striped t-shirt dress and this outfit instantly came to me. I bought this dress and necklace last year for the Fourth of July. It’s a combination that is pretty noticeable when worn again so I changed the shoes and added the chambray top and left it open like a cardigan. Although very similar to the original version, I liked it better today!

Today’s version-

If any of you share my feelings about repeating outfits try this out! It is almost like a challenge to myself to reinvent something I have already worn!

As for shopping this look I can tell you where everything is from, but it is all older so I can’t link the exact items: dress- Target / chambray top- Forever 21 / statement necklace- Charming Charlie / sandal wedges- Madden Girl by Steve Madden

Happy Wednesday!

Tragic Fashion- Tomorrow’s Forecast: Rainy with a Touch of “Fur-Nim”

Now that we have started March, Spring will be here soon enough. Infact in 19 days Spring will be knocking. Therefore I am going to take advantage of these cold few days to squeeze a few more California Winter outfits in. Tomorrow’s outfit will be fur and denim, or what I call, Fur-Nim. It’s something I haven’t paired yet, but I waited so long to buy my fur vest that I have only worn once, and I am just so obsessed with my chambray top I probably wear it twice a week, of course in different ways. Tomorrows style will consist of my faded chambray button up worn as just a top, black skinnies, brown ankle booties, tan fur vest, and a statement necklace. Almost all of these items have been on the blog but separate. See them here in a whole outfit! Happy rainy day tomorrow!
