The Perfect Little Dinner Dress (or brunch!)

Happy Wednesday! We are half way there, just hang on a little longer! I wanted to share this cute little dress I got last week for a nice dinner. We had a friend take my boyfriend and I out to a really nice place called The Summit House and I was going crazy trying to figure out what to wear. I knew the restaurant was nice but I wasn’t sure how nice and most, or really all of my dresses were not right for the occasion. I recently got rid of quite a few and am in need of replenishment. I found this loose navy, floral chiffon shift dress at Nordstrom for just under $50! The colors are still great for winter but the flowers make it okay for spring as well. When I saw it I instantly thought I could wear it with my tan Steve Madden heels. It looked super cute and was dressy enough and not over the top! The sleeves are super cute too, they are slit and tie at the bottom. I can’t wait to wear it again for a brunch. For anyone interested in sizing, I’m 5’8″ and I got a small and it was just long enough!

The Perfect Plaid Dress

Happy Saturday everyone! I don’t know about you but I am so happy it’s the weekend, this week was kind of awful. I started getting sick last weekend so I couldn’t get all my blog pictures done that I wanted but I did manager to get one. This off white and black plaid fit and flare dress from Maison Jules is pure perfection. It is so flattering on, I felt so good. I basically stalked this dress until it went on sale. I paired it with my new over the knee boots by DV for Target and of course over the knee socks. I loved it so much I can’t wait to wear it again! Such a simple concept can make you feel so good, a dress, boots, and socks. It is a great winter office look or you can even add black or brown booties or heels to dress it up more for work. The over the knew boots  are great for a more casual look.

Wear Again Wednesday #2

On Wednesdays we wear an outfit again… (I really hope you understood that reference) 

Anyways… It’s Wear Again Wednesday where I take a previously worn outfit and change it up a bit. For those of you who know me I rarely wear the exact same outfit more than once unless it’s one I REALLY love. But I’ve been trying to recycle my outfits instead of shopping and it’s working however, it does take some work. It can be so hard to just stare at your closet and see all the same clothes all the time. Imagination is needed to create new outfits! I saw the sleeve of one of my chambray tops sticking out of my overstuffed closet and saw the bottom of my red striped t-shirt dress and this outfit instantly came to me. I bought this dress and necklace last year for the Fourth of July. It’s a combination that is pretty noticeable when worn again so I changed the shoes and added the chambray top and left it open like a cardigan. Although very similar to the original version, I liked it better today!

Spring Dress!

My bfffff and I did another month with no shopping and it ended last week. Obviously the day it ended I was dying to buy something. I had an email that Old Navy was having a Spring sale so I decided to go there after work, I always have good luck at Old Navy. Well hello sale! I went a tad overboard and got 3 tops, a dress, and a pair of boyfriend jeans, all on sale! The tops were $8 each and I do not remember how much the dress and the jeans were but they were both 40% off. I love finding great deals! So far I have only worn the boyfriend jeans which stretched out so much while I was wearing them that I had to wash them right away and put them in the dryer (hopefully that helped) and the dress, which I have worn twice…in three days, don’t judge. It is just so cute! It is blush pink, loose, flow, pleated, and the perfect length. I wore it on Easter with my taupe fringe booties and a gold statement necklace.


Then I wore it yesterday with a long open knit cardigan, a gray scarf, gray knee socks, and tan boots.


See! It is totally versatile! I already have another idea of how to wear it next time. Totally a good investment. You will see the rest of the pieces later, I still need a couple things for the outfits I am planning.

Fourth of July

I was so excited that yesterday was finally the Fourth of July, not just for the fact that it was Independence Day, but I have been anticipating my outfit for a month now. I saw this t-shirt dress at Target right after I was done doing my month of no shopping. My excuse to buy it was so that I could wear it yesterday, even though I bought it a month ahead. I told you before, I can make an excuse to buy ANYTHING. The dress was also 20% off so it was meant to be. I like that it’s not quite red, it’s actually coral. Of course now that I got a “red” and white dress, I needed a blue necklace, because the one that I already have just didn’t quite work. So I went to my go to accessory store Charming Charlie! They were having their semiannual sale and clearance was buy one get one free. I found the perfect blue necklace in the clearance section. Lastly I already had the best pair of sandals to tie the whole outfit together, the Steve Madden’s I got on sale at the Cabazon Outlets. Who said a cute outfit has to be expensive?! I didn’t pay full price for any of these pieces. Check it out:
