Plaid Ruffles!

Topshop High Waist Cigarette TrousersAre you seeing the reoccurring theme yet with these ruffles? Basically I am obsessed and I really hope they do not got out of style soon because I am far too invested at this point. I saw this cute plaid and ruffle top when I was walking around BP at Nordstrom and I was instantly in love. Sometimes I reflect on the styles I am drawn to today and think of how I would have never thought twice about it back in high school or the beginning of college. This is one of those moments. The ruffles on this top are so prominent and I love them. Back then I would have laughed and agreed with my boyfriend when he called me a linebacker… like I said on Instagram, boys know nothing. *Insert Bride Wars quote “What do they teach boys in school?!”

Anyways, this top is different and I love it. The colors are very in with the holiday spirit so I am happy that we are past Halloween and I can finally wear it. Plus it has actually, for the most part, been cool enough to wear it. I saw it at Nordstrom, thought about it nonstop for like three days and bought it before I regretted it. It was my “congratulations you have been at your new job a year” gift. It was a splurge and I bought it full price. Of course NOW it is on sale for 40% off, but you know what? I wanted it to much I’m not even that mad about it.

I love that it can be worn casually or dressed up. This past Saturday I paired it with my high waist Topshop Jamies and my over the knee tan boots from Target (dv for Target last year) and I loved it. This may sound weird but you know when you are rocking an outfit that most people would say they couldn’t pull off, it just makes you feel cooler? That was me and I relished in it.

On the dressed up end for work, I paired it with my, again, high waist Topshop cigarette trousers, my red bow heels from Steve Madden (older), and a red lip. I thought it was fun to bring out the red in the top. The perfect pairing yet again! I am just so obsessed. I will link all pieces below but if you like it go check it out because I do not know how long the sale lasts. Embrace the ruffle movement with me! 😉

Favorite Fall Outfit

This is probably my favorite fall outfit this year. The only things that were new was the vest and the boots (that I have posted about multiple times now, I just love them!). I hadn’t been able to find a vest I liked and I’ve been wanting one for awhile now. Finally I found one at Old Navy and got it half off for the Black Friday sale! It’s so cute, super warm, and isn’t that shiny material, instead it’s a woven material with a herringbone pattern. I have been really into pattern mixing and I think my favorite is stripes and plaid. This plaid blanket scarf is seriously the best and is the best combo of colors. I got it last year on Amazon for like $12!

The Perfect Plaid Dress

Happy Saturday everyone! I don’t know about you but I am so happy it’s the weekend, this week was kind of awful. I started getting sick last weekend so I couldn’t get all my blog pictures done that I wanted but I did manager to get one. This off white and black plaid fit and flare dress from Maison Jules is pure perfection. It is so flattering on, I felt so good. I basically stalked this dress until it went on sale. I paired it with my new over the knee boots by DV for Target and of course over the knee socks. I loved it so much I can’t wait to wear it again! Such a simple concept can make you feel so good, a dress, boots, and socks. It is a great winter office look or you can even add black or brown booties or heels to dress it up more for work. The over the knew boots  are great for a more casual look.

Red, White, and Plaid!

I went shopping a few weeks ago with my bffffff and we put together the cutest outfit for her for work at Target! I loved it so much I wanted it too so she got me a Target gift card for my birthday. Our favorite work pants (yes I say “our” because we basically have everything the same) are the ankle slacks from Target and they keep coming out with new colors. I have five pairs now and there are still a couple colors I want. Anyways they got these new bright red ones in! They aren’t quite red red, more of a neon red, they are actually called “orange spark”. We grabbed those and then saw a flannel that was red, white, and blue, but the red was the smallest part and was bright enough to match the pants. We held the top up to the pants and fell in love instantly! We both thought of pairing it with our brown oxfords and a brown belt. Boom! You have a work attire outfit that is still casual. Look how cute it is!

Let’s Talk Socks – #3

If you haven’t been following this week, I have teamed up with Chrissy’s Knee High Socks to bring you a week of styling knee and thigh high socks! (If you want to catch up then read: Let’s Talk Socks – #1 and Let’s Talk Socks – #2) The last two posts were featuring thigh highs so today I am changing it up and debuting some knee socks…

Plaid and Polka Dots

I know plaid and polka dots may sound like a weird combination, but don’t knock it before you see it! If you’re daring enough, try pattern mixing, it is actually fun and you can make some cute outfits. I know my sisters would be so proud of me because I am usually always the matching one. These still kind of match though with the colors. Anyways this is a perfect winter outfit for really any occasion: going out, at work, in class, or even doing nothing but you still want to look cute. You know, like when you need to run to Target and you still want to look cute but not like you’re trying to look cute for Target. It is an effortlessly cute outfit. Not to mention it is pretty warm and cozy. I rocked these socks slightly scrunched down with black Steve Madden combat boots, thick warm black leggings (these can be substituted with any tight black bottoms), a navy, white, and red flannel from Target, a button up, navy cardigan from G Stage (the sleeves of the flannel HAVE to come out of the bottom of the sleeves of the cardigan and cuffed over to make this outfit work otherwise it is kind of dark, it just adds a little extra), and a navy and gold statement necklace from Charming Charlie. The whole outfit blended really well. Take a look…

Make a Statement in Plaid

Although it was 100 degrees today I couldn’t wait to wear my new outfit. I got this adorable flannel at Target a week ago and instantly knew when I saw it that I wanted to wear it with my navy ankle slacks. This way I could mix casual and work attire together. Pairing it with my brown oxfords topped it off as a total Spencer Hastings outfit. I told you I’m the Spencer. The slightly matching big statement necklace tied the whole outfit together. Don’t you think?
