Shift Dress

I pretty much want to buy this dress in every color and print they have. I just love how pretty you feel in it yet you’re totally comfortable. It almost feels like a secret, like “yeah everyone thinks I look all good but really I wore this dress because I was lazy and it’s comfy,” you get me? If you missed my first post on this dress you can read it here. It’s just the perfect little shift dress that’s great for any dinner, brunch, bridal shower, anything! Anything except work for me… I’m tall but I wear a small so dresses are usually a little too short. I think if I got another color though and wore it with tights I’d be okay, I’ll test it out maybe. The Perfect Little Dinner Dress (or brunch!)

Happy Wednesday! We are half way there, just hang on a little longer! I wanted to share this cute little dress I got last week for a nice dinner. We had a friend take my boyfriend and I out to a really nice place called The Summit House and I was going crazy trying to figure out what to wear. I knew the restaurant was nice but I wasn’t sure how nice and most, or really all of my dresses were not right for the occasion. I recently got rid of quite a few and am in need of replenishment. I found this loose navy, floral chiffon shift dress at Nordstrom for just under $50! The colors are still great for winter but the flowers make it okay for spring as well. When I saw it I instantly thought I could wear it with my tan Steve Madden heels. It looked super cute and was dressy enough and not over the top! The sleeves are super cute too, they are slit and tie at the bottom. I can’t wait to wear it again for a brunch. For anyone interested in sizing, I’m 5’8″ and I got a small and it was just long enough!

Sweater & A-Line Combo

There was a skirt from Maison Jules at Macy’s that I had kind of been stalking. I looked at it a few times, tried it on once, and decided I would buy it if it was on sale, which it wasn’t, so I put it back. A few weeks later Macy’s was having one of their one day sales and the skirt fell under that sale. I put it in my online cart just to see. I had a coupon in my “Macy’s Wallet” for $15 off $40 or more (the skirt was $39.99 and the coup actually applied!) AND THEN I had $15 in Macy’s cash (some deal I got from a previous purchase) that expired the next day. In the end the skirt, which was originally $69.50, came out to like $12 with tax! Talk about a steal, obviously I bought it. It is a little longer than normal but perfect for work and I love the colors, navy and plum. During the black Friday sale (on the Wednesday before) all of Old Navy was 50% off and I had bought an off white sweater. I hadn’t thought about wearing it with the skirt until last night and it came out super cute! Luckily I have plum pointed flats with crossing ankle straps that went perfectly with the outfit, and a navy and purple statement necklace from Charming Charlie. This is a perfect outfit for the office that was actually pretty warm.

The Best Color Combo

I know I have been obsessed with Old Navy recently but I can’t help it! I just find the best deals and and some of the cutest clothes, especially basics. On my last shopping trip there in March (after my month of no shopping), I found this navy striped loose peplum tank and it was on sale for $8! (I also bought it in black) I had been waiting for the perfect way to wear this, so I decided white pants were the best pairing. Of course I didn’t have any, so back to Old Navy I went! I wanted to add some color to the outfit and I LOVE wearing coral with navy so what would be better than a coral necklace to add some pop? I had just bought a coral necklace from Charming Charlie because it was a color I didn’t have yet, and it is a good one to have for summer. I was excited when I finally put this outfit on and paired it all together. I added my chunky tan heels because they basically go with everything and I love them. You cannot go wrong with navy, white, and coral.

Statements and Stripes

This navy skirt from Maison Jules is turning into one of my favorite pieces. This is my third outfit with it! I’ve gone from solid, to polka dots, and now to stripes. I paired it with a three quarter length white and navy striped top, white strappy sandals, and topped it off with a purple gem statement necklace with a couple navy stones to tie it in. I love this outfit, so easy and so comfy.

Make a Statement in Plaid

Although it was 100 degrees today I couldn’t wait to wear my new outfit. I got this adorable flannel at Target a week ago and instantly knew when I saw it that I wanted to wear it with my navy ankle slacks. This way I could mix casual and work attire together. Pairing it with my brown oxfords topped it off as a total Spencer Hastings outfit. I told you I’m the Spencer. The slightly matching big statement necklace tied the whole outfit together. Casual Friday

Yesterday I decided to be comfy for Friday and be a little patriotic! Boyfriend jeans are probably my favorite. They are loose and comfy, yet still look cute. I paired them with a loose, red stripped tee. These together alone is a pretty causal outfit, to dress it up a little for work though I added a bronze statement necklace and a navy blazer. All together it makes a comfy, cute, and effortless outfit!
