Pop of Color

How cute is this midi skirt?! I wasn’t sure if it was too circus tent-y, but I couldn’t get it out of my head from the moment I saw it. I decided it was too fun not to buy. I wore it to work but it would also be great for dress up events like brunch, a bridal shower, or a birthday party.

I paired it with my sleeveless chambray top and my rose gold heels, you know for a little pop, because a bright yellow skirt needs more pop…

I got so many compliments on this outfit from the minute I walked in the door at work! I just loved it! Probably one of the best parts about it is how inexpensive the skirt is. I got it half off on BooHoo.com. I’m excited to see what other looks I can make with it. Check it out!

Color Blocked!

Will you please check out this color blocked, pleated midi skirt I found from WhoWhatWear at Target?! It instantly caught my eye. I saw it and picked it up, then put it back. They I came by it again and touched it, but left it again. Then a THIRD time I picked it up and held it up to myself in the mirror. Okay, okay, SOLD! I had to get it, which surprised myself that I liked it so much. I am not normally drawn to reds but I loved this. There are even red slacks I have my eye on. I think I just love how bright it is, the skirt is such a statement piece. The skirt IS the outfit which is why I paired an off with top with it. The top needs to be simple with this skirt, otherwise I would look like a walking fiesta!

Valentine’s Countdown: Day Two-tu

Hello! Today is day two in my Valentine’s Day countdown or shall I say, day Tutu because what is more perfect for Valentine’s Day than a blush tutu skirt?! If you missed day one you can catch up –> here <–. As I said in my last post, for Valentine’s Day this year I am going shopping in my own closet rather than going actually shopping. To my surprise (although I really shouldn’t be that surprised) I found PLENTY of things in my closet that I can wear this V-day, like this blush tutu skirt! I got this from Windsor almost two years ago and I have only worn it once so clearly I need to wear it again. This is definitely going to be my choice outfit next Tuesday because not only is it adorable, but I feel like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City in it.

The top is a tank I got from G-Stage for like $15 to wear to my little sister’s grad. party last May and I haven’t worn it since. I am kind of bad at that, I buy an outfit for an occasion and then I do not end up wearing it again for a long time. Lately I have only been buying things when I can think of at least two places/events I can wear it to. Anyways back to it, the heels! At first I was hesitant wearing blush with blush, not to mention slightly different shades, but once I laid the heels on the skirt I was convinced. I wouldn’t necessarily pair these blush heels with this skirt on any regular day but for Valentine’s it is perfect. It gives just the right amount of girly-ness (is that even a word?) and the gold heel is of course perfect. To top off this look I am actually thinking of a berry lip, is that weird? I think it will give the outfit a little more edge and pop, I guess we will see when I wear it on Tuesday! I will be sure to post a photo.

Sweater & A-Line Combo

There was a skirt from Maison Jules at Macy’s that I had kind of been stalking. I looked at it a few times, tried it on once, and decided I would buy it if it was on sale, which it wasn’t, so I put it back. A few weeks later Macy’s was having one of their one day sales and the skirt fell under that sale. I put it in my online cart just to see. I had a coupon in my “Macy’s Wallet” for $15 off $40 or more (the skirt was $39.99 and the coup actually applied!) AND THEN I had $15 in Macy’s cash (some deal I got from a previous purchase) that expired the next day. In the end the skirt, which was originally $69.50, came out to like $12 with tax! Talk about a steal, obviously I bought it. It is a little longer than normal but perfect for work and I love the colors, navy and plum. During the black Friday sale (on the Wednesday before) all of Old Navy was 50% off and I had bought an off white sweater. I hadn’t thought about wearing it with the skirt until last night and it came out super cute! Luckily I have plum pointed flats with crossing ankle straps that went perfectly with the outfit, and a navy and purple statement necklace from Charming Charlie. This is a perfect outfit for the office that was actually pretty warm.

First Day of Fall

Yesterday I said I had one more thing to debut from Maison Jules and what better way than to do that on the first day of fall?! After all, it is a perfect fall color… OLIVE! I have been obsessed with olive lately, and this skirt is an adorable addition. What makes it even better is of course I got it on sale. I was totally excited to wear this outfit today. I paired my new skirt with my striped boyfriend tee from Target, an over sized open cardigan, and my black chunky heels from Steve Madden. I never wear heels to work so I thought these would be a good starter because they aren’t that high. I even wore them ALL DAY, go me! Anyways check it out and happy Fall!

OMG Skirts with Pockets!

While browsing Macy’s I had to walk through one of my favorite sections, Maison Jules! After looking through the section I stumbled upon a sale rack with quite a few navy skirts by Maison Jules on it. Usually when a bunch of one item goes on sale it’s because people don’t really like it and it’s not selling well. I tried it on despite this and it was totally cute! It is the perfect length for work but still isn’t too long, and it can be dressed up or dressed down. When it actually gets cold I can’t wait to pair it with tights and a blazer! Check it out!
