Fall is Coming!

The countdown to Fall has been on and we finally have 2 days left! For those of you who don’t know, mark your calendars because the first day of Fall is this Thursday, September 22nd! Everyone should be basic this day and get a Pumpkin Spice Latte to celebrate, that’s my plan and you can bet I already have my outfit picked out too. Fall is my favorite season (clearly). Not just for the cooler weather and the layering, and warmer colors, but it just gives me this feeling. I’m sure you know what I mean, like when you walk in a store that smells like cinnamon. You feel like you should be by your Christmas tree in fuzzy socks, drinking hot chocolate with way too many marshmallows. It’s just a warm, happy feeling, I can’t wait.

The fall styles have been out and I’m starting to jump right into them like a pile of leaves. Looking at my closet I feel like majority of my clothes are Fall colors and I’ve been trying to wait to wear them, but now I can! This weekend I stopped by Macy’s (even though I shouldn’t have) because they were having their VIP sale. Of course I went to my fav. Maison Jules. The line really has the best work clothes that are trendy and not terribly expensive. The best part is there is almost always something on sale AND you can use your Macy’s coups. on this line. I found a pair of olive ankle slacks that were already on sale for 40% off making them $29.99 and they had an additional 25% off, AND THEN the cashier had another coupon she used for me which made them even cheaper! I think they came out to $20 or just below when full price they should have been $50. I love sales! I got this polkadot top as well. Not as good of a deal as the pants but still 25% off plus the cashier’s coupon. It’s just so cute I couldn’t pass it up, and it’s a good quality. Going through my closet I’m trying to get rid of my old stuff that was just cheapy, like the million chiffon button ups I have but never wear because they are too thin. I’m trying to slowly replace them with better quality pieces.

Lastly, did you see my shoes?! I am so in love and what’s better is that they are so comfortable! My bfffff and I had been talking about this style, then Friday night I went out with my other best friend for her sister’s 21st birthday and she had a pair like these but a different color. I became obsessed all night that I went and found them on Saturday afternoon. I found them at G Stage for $28.99. I’ve had them since Saturday and have already worn them with 2 outfits, soon to be 3 towards the end of the week.

First Day Look

Today was my first day at my new job! I am now a Branch Facilities Coordinator at New American Funding. I was so excited/nervous this morning! Orientation was really cool though and actually fun. It also helps that one of my best friends works there too, in another department but we still get to have lunch together.

So the dress code here is business casual with casual Fridays. For the first day I wanted to wear something that was not too dressy, but not too casual either. I wanted to gauge  how everyone else dressed in the office. It turned out my outfit was perfect, just enough dressed up. I chose my ankle slacks from Target (my favorite work pants), and my new loose white and black polkadot ruffle-hem top from Maison Jules at Macy’s. To go over my top I picked my new mustard cardigan from Target, I LOVE pairing mustard over black and white. For shoes I knew I wanted to wear flats, and although it may sound weird to some I went with the leopard pointed toe flats from Target. I know polkadots and leopard print doesn’t sound like it goes together but it worked really well! The leopard print went with the color scheme of black and mustard.

…See!

Statements and Stripes

This navy skirt from Maison Jules is turning into one of my favorite pieces. This is my third outfit with it! I’ve gone from solid, to polka dots, and now to stripes. I paired it with a three quarter length white and navy striped top, white strappy sandals, and topped it off with a purple gem statement necklace with a couple navy stones to tie it in. I love this outfit, so easy and so comfy.

Ps- my boyfriend asked me why I was dressed like a flight attendant.

First Day of Fall

Yesterday I said I had one more thing to debut from Maison Jules and what better way than to do that on the first day of fall?! After all, it is a perfect fall color… OLIVE! I have been obsessed with olive lately, and this skirt is an adorable addition. What makes it even better is of course I got it on sale. I was totally excited to wear this outfit today. I paired my new skirt with my striped boyfriend tee from Target, an over sized open cardigan, and my black chunky heels from Steve Madden. I never wear heels to work so I thought these would be a good starter because they aren’t that high. I even wore them ALL DAY, go me! Anyways check it out and happy Fall!

•Polka • Dots•

I was pretty excited to wear today’s outfit. I found another sale while I was at Macy’s to only pay my bill, and you guessed it, another Maison Jules find. There were items already on sale and then they were having their VIP sale as well, SO this completely adorable white top with navy and pink polka dots was originally $59.90, was on sale for 25% off then I got 20% off for the VIP sale and it came out to $35.94! I wanted it because not only does it go great with my navy skirt I posted about awhile go from Maison Jules, but it will also look cute with jeans and with a blazer when it starts to get cold. It is also totally work appropriate.

Like I said I paired my top with my navy pencil-ish skirt and topped it off with a small navy statement necklace. The necklace was kind of super matchy but it worked. I wasn’t totally sure on what shoes to wear so I added a brown leather belt so that I could wear my brown leather sandal wedges from Madden Girl. This way the outfit was dressy but not super dressy. After all no one really dresses up at work except for myself and the boss lady, so when I wear something pretty nice people ask me why, I mean it is a construction company. “Why are you dressed up?” “Uh, for work?” I don’t need a reason, I just like to look nice. Remember? You look good, you feel good. Anyways check it out! And stay tuned for the other item I got on sale along with this top! (Hopefully tomorrow it will debut!)

The BEST VEST

So as promised, the details from today’s outfit! I love when you wake up excited for the day because you can’t wait to wear the outfit that you picked out. See style and fashion can affect your mood! If you look good, you feel good! Anyways I was SO EXCITED that my Maison Jules vest finally came in (from my last post Deals and Steals)! I say finally like it was forever but it was really like 3 whole days haha. Of course since my vest came in last night I wanted to wear it today. I couldn’t think of what to wear it with though. Finally while trying to fall asleep it came to me. My best thoughts always come to me when I am about to fall asleep and I am convinced I will remember them in the morning, that is a serious gamble. I remembered though! Today was the coolest day of the week at a whole 79 degrees so I took full advantage and busted out my boots! These Madden Girl boots have probably been one of my best investments, I think this is my 4th year with them, but not the point. I paired my new olive green vest with a loose, striped, shift tank dress, knee high ruffle socks, my camel colored boots, and topped it off with a nude statement necklace. I was so pleased with how it came out! I can’t wait for all of the other ways I can style this vest. So far I have another outfit in mind that is inspired off a picture I saw on Instagram, but it is still too hot for that outfit. Check out today’s though!

Deals and Steals

Last night on Instagram Maison Jules posted a picture of this dress…

I instantly tagged my bffffff in it because it’s obviously adorable. I looked it up on Macy’s and it was on sale for $49.99, originally $69.50. Not all that bad. While I was looking for the dress I also came across this vest and I have been on the search for this exact piece…

This was also on sale for $49.99, originally $69.50.  I added them both to my cart because that’s just what I do, I torture myself because I knew I wasn’t going to buy them, and OF COURSE you need to spend $100 to get free shipping and what did I have in my cart, $100. BUT NO! I was good.

Well like always when I have my eyes on something I really want or have been looking for I obsess over it (this means you really want it and you can envision all the different ways to wear it- generally to me it means it’s a good buy) I have these shopaholic instincts. Well at work while taking a quick break I look up the items again on Macy’s just to see, when a miracle happened. Some act of fate mixed with fashion destiny that these two items came together just for me! The dress was now on sale for $17.99 and the vest $37.99! WHAT?! It’s one of those Macy’s One Day Sales (that lasts for two days but whatever). I go to my Macy’s app on my phone to order them right then and there since my info is saved on my phone. The first thing I thought of was now I had to pay shipping and was hoping it wasn’t too much. I added the two to my cart and went to check out. Looking at the total I noticed I qualified for FREE SHIPPING! Apparently for the One Day Sale (again it’s actually two days so I don’t know why they just don’t call it a two day sale, it doesn’t make it less exclusive) you only need to spend $50 to qualify for free shipping and I was spending $55! Altogether with tax it was $60.46. If the stars didn’t align for this purchase then I don’t know what happened but I got both items I wanted for less than the price of one and it’s getting shipped to my place… WINNING!

You can check out Maison Jules at Macy’s riiiiiight HERE! (It’s one of my favorites if you haven’t started to gather that)

OMG Skirts with Pockets!

While browsing Macy’s I had to walk through one of my favorite sections, Maison Jules! After looking through the section I stumbled upon a sale rack with quite a few navy skirts by Maison Jules on it. Usually when a bunch of one item goes on sale it’s because people don’t really like it and it’s not selling well. I tried it on despite this and it was totally cute! It is the perfect length for work but still isn’t too long, and it can be dressed up or dressed down. When it actually gets cold I can’t wait to pair it with tights and a blazer! Check it out!
