Dress Obsessed

Dresses are great for multiple reasons. 1- they are just cute, 2- they are the easiest outfits ever because one piece of clothing is an entire outfit! 3- there are so many different kinds. I absolutely love dresses and already have quite a few but it is not enough. You can always use more dresses. I often convince myself that I need a new dress for every new occasion. What? I can’t have ANOTHER picture in the dress I wore to the last event, right?

One of my go to sites for dresses is Lily Boutique. They have so many different kinds, in so many colors, for pretty much every occasion! I even got my bridesmaid dress there for my friend’s wedding. All of these dresses, including the one for the wedding I was in are pretty reasonably priced.

This was my dress for my friend’s wedding, along with my beautiful friend!

Bambi in Heels

Now that I’m over the embarrassment of it, I can share my tragicness from the wedding I went to on Saturday. I shared my outfit I wore there earlier today in my post PINsperation. Anyways, we finally made it to this wedding, but we were not told that it was down a dirt road. At the end of this dirt road was the venue. We had to park near the end of the drive, and this drive was not paved either. We got out of the car, fixed our dresses, and started walking. We knew we looked good. This walk was like an obstacle course though. There was gravel, rocks, and dirt every where. I was walking slow and making it. I had to make it, I was looking good and feeling confident. Then our friends drove by and popped their heads out the window to say hi. I looked up to say hi and lost my concentration. Just like that I stumbled, and when I tried to recover I stumbled even harder and almost twisted my ankle and went down. All of my friends were watching, it was terrible. I looked like a baby deer! I can laugh about it now, typical me, typical tragic girl. I laugh when people tell me I’m so poised and put together, when really I stumble in heels sober.

PINspired

One of the reasons I had been looking forward to the wedding I attended on Saturday was because I was so excited about the outfit I was going to wear! I picked this out like over a month ago, ever since I saw a picture on Pinterest. The color combination was so cute that I was determined to recreate it. I love recreating outfits from Pinterest, it makes me feel so accomplished, and it is fun to make it your own way too. The dress in the picture was more of a coral, I however found a more hot pink shift dress, and get this, it was only $20 from one of my go to stores G Stage. To find the mint/tealish accessories I went straight to my go to accessory store, Charming Charlie. I am obsessed with this store and really should not be allowed to go in by myself. I had no worries about finding the right color I needed for my necklace and clutch, this store is accessory heaven! I even found more than one option and almost couldn’t decide. I ended up with the perfect match though and at a good price, the necklace was $12 (I believe or around there), and the clutch was $25! Of course I had a coupon too- hooray for smart shopping! As for my heels, I stuck with the best pair of heels I have ever owned. I was in one of my best friend’s weddings (you may know her from Glitter It Gold) in August and we got the best heels! They are beige heels by Levity from DSW and has been the best money I have ever spent on shoes, and they were only $50 or $60! I wore them in her wedding, to our next friend’s wedding, to the bridal shower for the wedding this past Saturday, AND to the wedding as well. They are just so comfortable and match with so much!

Anyways, I was super excited about how my outfit came out so enjoy!

Sunday Banquet

My little sister called me yesterday and asked if my roomie and I would be her parents for the end of the year sorority banquet for Sigma Kappa. My roomie and I are alum so of course we said yes! It also gave us another excuse to dress up, which we always love. The dress code was “brunch attire” so we both picked something that’s dressy yet casual, and of course added heels! Loose dresses have kind of been our thing lately, but you have to know how to wear them. Not all loose dresses look good, the wrong one can look boxy, which is not flattering. The right one though, paired with the right heels and accessories, will not only look effortlessly put together, but also be really comfortable.

These were our Sunday styles:

Tragic Fashion- Nothing to Wear

Me: “We have so many clothes, you’d think we’d have something for every occasion, but we don’t!”

Roomie: “Nope because it all depends on where you wore it last and what pictures you have posted in it.”

TRUTH.

This was mine and my roomie’s conversation on our drive home tonight. We were discussing what we should wear to a bridal shower next weekend, and somehow out of both of our overflowing closets, we don’t have a thing to wear. It’s true! We couldn’t find a dress to wear, but we found a back up dress. Interesting how that works. It’s our we will wear that if we can’t find a better option dress, as in buy a new dress because don’t already have a million. I am one of the biggest offenders of this, but I just wonder, why do girls think it’s so bad to repeat an outfit? If this wasn’t an issue, getting dressed in the morning would be so much easier!
