Statement Earrings

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you have all been well and had a great weekend. We had my older sister’s surprise party for her 30th birthday. Let me tell you, surprise parties are hard to plan especially when you live with the person you are surprising! Plus she is crazy in the best possible way and insisted on throwing her own party thinking we were not going to do anything anyways, so all of her friends were getting so confused keeping the fake party and the real party straight. By the time it came around she was very suspicious of the surprise, like I am pretty sure she knew, but we all had a great time and she got very drunk so all was well!

I have been SO obsessed with statement earrings. I am sure this is a common obsession since they are very popular right now, but I love adding them to everything as a fun pop! I feel like they are a way to get extra creative, like you can get brave and wear fun and funky ones. I love adding them for a pop of color especially with a darker or a plainer outfit. Here I added them to my black and white striped one piece bathing suit and it completely changed the look. The suit is cute by itself but there is only so much you can do with a one piece, it is just one piece so it’s a little plain. The earrings actually made it a look and is so fun for a weekend by the pool or a pool party.

Right now my favorite place to get fun earrings is Target. I am so obsessed with the Sugar Fix by BaubleBar line there. BaubleBar is so cute but I can always justify the price for earrings, but their line at Target I think is just as nice as their normal line. Most of the styles by Sugar Fix are around $12-$15, totally affordable! I think I have like 6 pairs so far! If you have any suggestions for fun earrings please send them my way!

Have a great week and the 4h of July is just around the corner!

“Casual” Backyard Graduation Party Look

I have probably said it before but I love wearing fake casual looks. I guess it is not necessarily fake, I mean I love dressing casual looks up. This way technically you are still casual, but you are also still undercover over dressed. Yesterday was my youngest sister’s graduation and grad. party. To the graduation I didn’t know what to wear so I went safe with my “blogger dress” (you know the perfect dress all the bloggers have, posted here on insta) and wedges. The graduation party was at our parents house in the backyard. I had been trying to figure out all week what to wear. I know our backyard parties are not a dressy thing, but I wanted to look cute and I knew I wanted to wear high waisted shorts (that were not denim) and a crop that only showed like not that much of my stomach. After almost three different options, I found the perfect shorts at Target and the perfect simple cropped tee at Nordstrom. Together these two made a pretty simple and casual outfit but I wanted to dress it up a little. I paired the look with my favorite tan wedges which I think make everything look better, and added a pair of summery gold statement earrings. The crop top was a pretty long one but I bought it with the intention to tie up the front, so I made sure to get a size up. I just love the tied look right now. The shorts also have a matching belt that is supposed to tie in the front but that was too much with my little knot so I tied a bow in the back instead. It all came together really well and I got a lot of compliments, especially on the shorts!

St. Patrick’s Day

With today being St. Patrick’s day, of course I had to wear green. I don’t have any of the typical St. Patrick’s Day green so I stuck with olive green, which I think is much better anyways. To keep with the office vibe I paired my olive green pants, cuffed once at the bottom to make them ankle length, with a black peplum tank, a baggy open sweater that is black with pink flowers and green leaves, and lastly a pair of grey pointy flats. To add a little more flash to this outfit I put on the new peach earring that I got from Hello Fab. These helped to tie the whole outfit together and make it more fun and dressy.

PS- Don’t judge my wannabe photoshoot.
